In June 2010 a new solar block heating plant was taken into operation on the Orust island in West Sweden. A second small demo plant shall demonstrate the (technical and contractual) possibilities for house owners to have local solar heating plants in a large district heating network.
New block heating plant in operation in June 2010 A new block heating plant with a wood chips boiler combined with about 1 000 m2 of ground mounted large module solar collectors was put into operation in June 2010 for the Ellös village at the Orust island in West Sweden.
Demo plant for dezentralised solar heating in Göteborg district heating system August 2010 The municipal housing company Gårdstensbostäder and Göteborg Energi are building a small demonstration plant in Gårdsten. The plant includes solar collectors on a flat roof connected to the district heating system via a prefabricated sub-station with heat exchanger, pumps and controls. The plant will be in operation in August 2010 and is aimed to demonstrate the (technical and contractual) possibilities for house owners to have local solar heating plants in a large district heating network.
